"How do I know if my child needs tutoring?"

Social, Emotional, Developmental, and Academic Indications:

When a student hates school, is sick a lot,  says he's picked on or bullied, lacks motivation, doesn't want to go to school in the morning, has a learning disability, scribbles or doodles a lot at school during written assignments, acts out or hurts other students, has a speech problem or doesn't talk much at all at school, makes poor grades, when health problems or a lack of confidence interfere with attending school on time or regularly, or when school is too hard or too easy.

These are just a few common signs that should be addressed. Concerns of this nature can mean that intervention is needed. Recognizing the signs is the first step to finding the right intervention. At EVS Tutor Desk we want to help your child develop a happier and more successful school life.

:When A Child Performs Below Or Well Above Standard

Tutoring is not just to help students improve academically, it can be a great way to stimulate a student's interests who performs above standards. Gifted students can become bored or lack motivation. Enrichment classes and opportunities to grow socially and emotionally can be great tools for developing a life long love for learning, which is the ultimate satisfaction found in education.

Some of the best advice for teaching and developing students' knowledge comes from years of Harvard research and experienced educators from around the world. A child's development should continually show growth in school based on these core principals.

1. Learning and Brain Development.

2. Learning and Language Acquisition.

3. Support for Healthy Development.

4. Literacy Through the Content of the Academics.

5. Teaching for Understanding.

6. Utilizing New and Emerging Technologies.
